Service Booking Terms

• Some services are confirmed straight away; others need the provider to approve your request first. The listing and your booking status show which.
• A provider can have a limited number of active bookings at a time. When they are full, new bookings cannot be made until one finishes.
• Timing is arranged with the provider after booking — use chat to agree a time.
• Rescheduling through the app is not available at present; agree changes with the provider, or cancel and book again.

At your location

The provider comes to your address. You can book only if your address is inside the provider's service area — a distance from their base (up to 100 km) or a list of cities or PIN/postal codes. Give an accurate address and access instructions, and make sure the space is safe to work in.

At the provider's location

You go to the provider's address shown on the listing.

Fixed price

You pay the fixed price shown on the listing (or the discounted price, if lower), unless you and the provider agree extra work before it is done.

Hourly

You pay the hourly rate shown on the listing for the verified working time — from when you give the start code to when you give the completion code, minus any breaks the provider records. The app shows the bill based on this time.

Prices are set by the provider. Mechji ignores any price or duration changed outside the listing, so the bill is always calculated from the listing and the verified time.

• When your booking is confirmed you get a 4-digit start code, valid for 30 minutes. Give it to the provider when they arrive and begin work.
• When the service starts you get a completion code, valid for 3 hours. Give it to the provider only when the work is finished to your reasonable satisfaction.
• If a code expires, you can request a new one in the app. Five wrong attempts block the code.
• Services can only be started during the provider's working hours.
• If the provider changes the staff member assigned to you before the service starts, previous codes stop working and new ones are issued.

The provider may assign a staff member. You will see their name and photo in your booking. The provider remains responsible for the service and for its staff.

You pay the provider directly after the service is completed, using a method they accept. The provider records the payment and uploads an invoice matching the verified bill. See the Payment Terms.

• You can cancel a booking while it is waiting for approval or confirmed, before the service starts. Mechji does not charge a cancellation fee.
• The provider can decline a booking request, or cancel a booking before the service starts.
• Because you pay after completion, there is normally nothing to refund when a booking is cancelled. If you paid anything in advance, the provider must refund it — see the Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy.

If the service was not performed as described or you have a safety concern, contact the provider and then Help & Support — see the Dispute Resolution Policy. You can review the service once it is completed — see the Reviews & Ratings Policy.

We may update these terms from time to time. Each version has a version number and an effective date, and earlier versions stay available for reference.

When a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app or on the website before it takes effect and, where required, ask you to accept the new version before you continue using Mechji.
