Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy

Cancellations, returns and refunds are covered together here. Refunds of fees that sellers pay to Mechji are covered by the Payment Terms. Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under consumer-protection law.

• You can cancel an order at any stage up to and including "shipped".
• Once an order is "out for delivery" it cannot be cancelled. You may be able to return it after delivery.
• The seller can cancel an order before it is out for delivery, for example if it cannot be fulfilled.
• If you have already paid the seller, the seller must refund you in full.

• You can cancel a booking before the service starts. Mechji charges no cancellation fee.
• The provider can decline a request or cancel before the service starts.
• Services are paid after completion, so usually nothing needs refunding. Any advance payment must be refunded by the provider.

• Whether a product can be returned, and within how many days of delivery, is shown on the listing and in your order. If a product is not returnable, the listing says so.
• Request a return from your order within the return period. Choose a refund or a replacement, give a reason and add up to five photos.
• The seller reviews your request and approves or rejects it. If they reject it, they must give a reason.
• You can withdraw your request until the item has been collected.
• The seller arranges collection of the item. Keep it in the condition you received it, with its packaging where possible.
• When you have received your refund or replacement, you receive a 4-digit return code (valid for 30 minutes). Share it with the seller only after you have received the refund or replacement — this closes the return.

• Refunds for orders and bookings are paid by the seller directly to you, by cash, UPI or bank transfer, and the seller records the refund and a transaction reference on Mechji.
• For a returned item, the refund is the price you paid for that item. Delivery charges are not refunded for returns unless the seller agrees or the law requires it.
• For a cancelled order you had already paid for, the refund is the full amount paid.
• Sellers must refund promptly and within any time limit set by law.

If a seller rejects a return you think is valid, does not collect the item, or does not refund you, raise a request in Help & Support. We can open a dispute, ask both sides for evidence, and direct the seller to refund where appropriate. See the Dispute Resolution Policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. Each version has a version number and an effective date, and earlier versions stay available for reference.

When a change materially affects your rights, we will tell you in the app or on the website before it takes effect and, where required, ask you to accept the new version before you continue using Mechji.
